If someone can put these a hundred words together and make them sound like a meaningful story and the most difficult of all Do a Rap, I am gonna bow to him/her in full respect. Like the ones that Cameron did on Screen Talk and he rocks! Steven can have a go first Smiley

Steven wrote on ÁùÔÂ 8, 2007, 1:48pm:
Don't worry William and Helena!  If you knew and used these words, many native English speakers wouldn't know them either. Here are some that are useful, though:

acumen (n): a quickness to be smart; keen
auspicious (adj): fortunate; promising success
epiphany (n): a sudden insight or awareness of something new
equinox (n): when the sun crosses the equator making the day and night equal length (March 21, Sept. 22)
euro (n): the money used in Europe
hubris (n): pride; self-confidence; arrogance
impeach (v): to accuse or make a charge against a public official
incognito (adj): in disguise
infrastructure (n): the basis, foundation, and support of a building or society
irony (n): using words to convey a meaning that is opposite of the literal use of the words
metamorphosis (n): a complete change from one state to another (usually a biological word like a caterpillar's metamorphosis into a butterfly)
omnipotent (adj): all powerful
paradigm (n): an example that is used as a model; a pattern
parameter (n): limits or boundaries
plagiarize (v): to use or say someone else's words or ideas and say they are your own
reciprocal (adj): given, felt, or performed in return; mutual
tempestuous (adj): crazy, violent, stormy (like a tempest)
usurp (v): to take or hold a political position without legal right
vehement (adj): strongly emotional, passionate, angry
vortex (n): a fast swirling mass or water, wind, fire, or space
xenophobe (n): a person who hates foreigners (xenophobic is the adjective)

Learn three of these, and you will know more vocabulary than you did yesterday! Smiley
